The Burkhart Insurance Agency was established in 1953 by Orval Burkhart.
He purchased the existing business located at 222 W. Cedar Avenue in downtown Gladwin where we still are today, from Henry Borders. Orval’s son Bill Burkhart joined him in 1967 and then later took over as president in 1985 when Orval semi-retired. Dirk Presidio was hired in 1986 and later purchased the office in 1995 when Bill retired. It was at that time that the name was changed to the Burkhart-Presidio Insurance Agency.

In 2002, Dirk purchased Gladwin County Insurers, and brought their staff and customers into our office. We feel that the thing that distinguishes the Burkhart-Presidio Insurance Agency from other insurance offices is our outstanding staff. Our employee’s average length of time in the insurance industry is over 23 years each, the least experienced at 14 years and the most at 37 years. We think our insurance knowledge, friendly service, and great companies make us the right choice to handle all of your insurance needs.
